The lung transplant that saved a Hometown Hero’s life is a new, high-stakes procedure in which the surgeon trims the organs to fit the patient’s chest. Dedicated teacher Tricia Moses endured the arduous surgery, a lobar lung transplant, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in January.
